About the project

SERN has been designated as an accredited organisation for Erasmus+ projects, Key Action 1 for the entire 2021-2027 programme period.

The focus of the proposed and approved training plan is on people services with particular interest in the elderly care in relation with the digitalization process.

Other SERN members interested in this topic, will have the opportunity to take part in the accreditation activities in the eligible period (until November 2027) enlarging the Consortium.

Objectives

The project aims to reach the following objectives:

  • to develop digital skills to improve caregivers’ training, the elderly-caregivers relationship and organization/family communication
  • to improve intercultural competences to respond to the needs posed by a multi-ethnic society and their effects on the care of the elderly even with dementia
  • to increase the European dimension of training to share innovative good practices and to acquire information to be transferred to their own organisations

Ten participants from ASP PARMA, Comune di Bertinoro, Comune di Imola, and Unione Tresinaro Secchia are attending a training course on dementia care organised by Expertisecentrum Dementie Paradox Ghent under the Erasmus+ accreditation framework. This week, they’re focusing on creating dementia-friendly environments and tackling challenging behaviours in young people with dementia.
A big thanks to Paradox Ghent for leading this training.
📌 May 2024
🎯 It’s been a busy and enriching period for organisations participating in Erasmus+ accreditation activities with the Social services and digitalization project.
Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve been up to:
🔹 In late April, a dedicated group took part in a job shadowing experience in Linköping, organised by the Welfare Research Centre of Linköpings kommun.
🔹 Now, a team of 8 social assistants and welfare coordinators is in Coimbra, Portugal, attending a structured training course on organising services for disabled people, hosted by APCC – Associação de Paralisia Cerebral de Coimbra
🔹 Later in May, another group will head to Belgium for specialized training on caregiving for people with dementia, hosted by Paradox in Ghent.
And that’s not all! We have more activities lined up for the summer period. Stay tuned for more updates! 🌍✨
📌 February 2024
The two-day dementia training “daily living” aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of caregivers.
The course is part of the Erasmus+ accreditation activities in which SERN is leading a consortium for adult education in the field of welfare services and digitisation.
Leading the way are the experts, Annelien Van Gansbeke and Christian Verelst from Expertisecentrum Dementie Paradox.
With their wealth of experience and expertise, they are set to provide invaluable insights and guidance throughout the course.
📌 August 2023
The last training course of the Erasmus+ accreditation 2022 started on Monday, 21st August, in Linköping, organised by the R&D center for welfare policies of the Municipality of Linkoping. Participants focus their attention on innovative tools for improving their skills in managing elderly care from a digitization perspective.
Moreover, a group of six learners are participating in the group mobility activity with a training focus on welfare technology.
📌 August 2023
The Job Shadowing of the Erasmus+ Accreditation Social Services and Digitalization just ended!
The Italian Job shadowers from ASP “Cav. Marco Rossi Sidoli” ASP PARMA and ASP di Unione Terre d’Argine spent the last five days working side by side with the Swedish colleague to acquire a deep understanding of the Swedish welfare system and innovative digital tools applied in the welfare sector.
We are happy to thank Bodens kommun for welcoming the Italian group and sharing with them practices and experiences in social welfare services!
