Located in the heart of Romagna, Faenza is rich in history and cultural traditions. Built on the Via Emilia and at the crossroads with Dante’s way, following the ancient trackway connecting Florence and Ravenna, Faenza is internationally renowned as the City of Ceramics by definition (from where the name faience originates).
Faenza is a dynamic and lively centre, representing the best of artistic contemporaneity and the research for innovation, at the basis of the ceramics handicraft production. More than 60 ceramic workshops are active and constitute a precious cultural heritage and a touristic offer to be discover through guided tours, ceramic courses and experience.
Places of interest: MIC -International Ceramics Museum, Masini Theatre – member of the European Route of Historical Theatres, Historical buildings Palazzo del Podestà, Palazzo del Popolo (Town Hall) and Palazzo Milzetti, Cathedral, Municipal Art Gallery.
Main events: Argillà Italia International Ceramics Festival and Palio del Niballo.
