EMILIAMBIENTE
About the Member
EmiliAmbiente is the management company of the Integrated Water Service of 11 municipalities in the province of Parma. Its work consists in the collection, supply and distribution of water for civil and productive uses, collection – through public sewerage – and purification of urban waste water, as well as environmental and territorial monitoring related to the performance of the Service.
EmiliAmbiente is a joint-stock company, owned by shareholders who are public entities: it is therefore defined as “partecipata pubblica”. Its history has its roots in the consortia established between the municipalities for the direct and public management of the water resource. To this strong identity, which guarantees in the present a constant proximity to the territory served – shareholders, citizens, suppliers or employees – has been added over time a solid business management able to keep up with the stringent quality requirements required.
We serve almost 45 thousand aqueduct users and approximately 40 thousand purification users, managing almost 1700 km of aqueduct and sewerage network: a vital asset which – due to the essential resource it transports and the widespread way in which it branches out – can be defined as true and the backbone of our territory.
We therefore believe that we are, by our very nature, ideal candidates to become the driving force of its development: the next few years will see us committed to working alongside our member municipalities to fully become it, through an Investment Plan that we have defined as expansive and sustainable (The objective is to get closer to the European standards of 80 euros per year per inhabitant, according to ARERA indications) and to a decisive effort for the Energy Transition and Digital Transition. None of this would be possible without the valorization and growth of human resources, which we consider strategic factors to guarantee the quality of the service we offer. Finally, we want to contribute to raising aware citizens, right from school: for this reason, for 10 years we have been promoting “The School of Water”, the permanent educational laboratory on the topic of water, hydrogeological cycle, water service and its sustainable management.
The framework in which our commitment moves are the Sustainable Development Goals contained in the UN 2030 Agenda, and in particular:
- Goal 6. Clean water and sanitation
- Goal 7. Affordable and clean energy
- Goal 8. Decent work and economic growth
- Goal 9. Industry, innovation and infrastructure
- Goal 11. Sustainable cities and communities
- Goal 12. Responsible consumption and production
- Goal 13. Climate action
